Charles the Rash
Caption
Charles de Valois-Bourgogne, known as Charles the Rash (1433-1477), last Valois duke of Burgundy. This nickname wasn't given to him until the Romantic Era; his contemporaries called him the Bold, the Great Lion, the Worker, and even the Terrible. Seen here, the Battle of Montlhéry (July 16 1465), where he warded off Louis XI, King of France, before besieging Paris.
