Godfrey of Bouillon (1058-1100) instructed by his mother, Saint Ida. He was the first ruler of the Kingdom of Jerusalem: he refused the title of King, which had been proposed to him at the time of the city's capture in 1099, and was known instead as the Advocate of the Holy Sepulchre.
