Henry VIII (1491-1547), King of England, son of King Henry VII and Elisabeth of York. Became king in 1509, following the death of his brother, Arthur Tudor. He is known for having married six wives, two of which were executed. He was an avid gambler, and also enjoyed poetry and music. He united England and Wales and founded the Royal Navy.
