Church of Saint-Sepulcre or Church of the Resurrection, Christian church located outside the walls of the Old City in Jerusalem. It is most holy for Christians, because it is the sanctuary constructed around the spot of the crucifixion of Christ (Golgotha), as well as the place where he was buried (the sepulcre, or tomb, of Jesus) and resurrected (Anastasis, in Greek).
