The ascent of Marie Madeleine Sophie Blanchard (1778-1819), called Madame Blanchard, in Paris, Champ de Mars (1810). French aeronaut married to fellow aeronaut Jean-Baptiste Blanchard in 1794, who introduced her to flight. Official aeronaut to Napoleon, she died during a show.
