Octave Mirbeau.
Caption
Octave Mirbeau (1848-1917). French writer, influential journalist, art critic, and dreaded lampoonist, he was also an innovative novelist and a playwright, both classic and modern, who triumphed on all of the great stages of the world. It is he who paid the fine inflicted on Emile Zola for the article "j'accuse". He was elected as a member of the Goncourt Academy in 1903.
