Paul Marcoy, real name Laurent Saint Cricq. French explorer, he spent 6 years in South America before returning to France during the Revolution (1848). After having learned Quechua and learned many Incan legends, he traveled from Port Islay to the South of Peru, to the Amazon Delta. He then undertook a voyage connecting the Atlantic and the Pacific (1860-1862). He published the accounts of his travels.
