Marie Alexandra Victoria of Edinburgh (1875-1938 became by marriage Queen Consort of Romania from 1914)) at the bedside of a wounded man.
She began working as a nurse for the Red Cross at the beginning of the First World War, meanwhile organising the resistance of her country against German occupation. She represented Romania during the Treaty of Versailles.
