The prison of La Petite Roquette is a penitentiary for young prisoners in Paris - 11th arrondissement (France)
Designed by the architect Louis-Hippolyte Lebas, it was built according to the plan imagined by the English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, the panoptic : star-shaped buildings with a central tower for the surveillance of the prisoners. Inaugurated in 1836 by Louis-Philippe, it closed permanently in 1974.
