The Dreyfus Affair - Emile Zola, (1840-1902) entering the law court.
The trial took place at the Assises de la Seine from 7 to 23 February 1898 ; Zola was brought to justice following his article "J'Accuse !" published on the cover of the newspaper L'Aurore in which he forcefully denounced the French military staff against Captain Dreyfus. Finally sentenced to one year in prison, Zola went into exile in England.
