SIR JAMES GRAHAM COMMENCING THE SILLOTH RAILWAY, FRIDAY, 31 AUGUST, 1855; This short line of 12.75 miles is intended to complete the communication between the German Ocean and the Irish Sea. It branches off from the Port Carlisle Railway at a place called Drumburgh, about eight miles north west of the city of Carlisle, and will be carried to the Cumberland.
