ON THE MISSISQUOI. Thomas Moran (February 12, 1837 â€ì August 25, 1926) from Bolton, England was an American painter and printmaker of the Hudson River School in New York whose work often featured the Rocky Mountains. Missisquoi River is a tributary of Lake Champlain, approximately 80 mile (130 km) long, in northern Vermont in the United States and southern Quebec in Canada.
