THE DHAMMA SHAN KYANK PYA; The rock shown is a piece of gneiss, and the story goes that the Nat thamie, or the daughters of the spirits of the woods, used to go and amuse themselves by sliding down the rock. It is said by going and sliding down this rock one is freed from pains, aches, and diseases, or, as the Burmese say, the Ko say kyank pa yangam or the ninety-six diseases., 1890 engraving
