Canton, Tomb of the seventy-two heroes, Canton, Keystone View Company, Gelatin silver, between 1918 and 1933, View of the Mausoleum of the 72 Martyrs, Huanghuangang, Guangzhou (city). Built in 1918 to commemorate the revolutionary heroes who died in the Guangzhou Uprising (27 April 1911) led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the monument incoporates various international symbols of freedom and democracy, including a replica of the Statute of Liberty
