Centerpiece, sculpture of La Felsina, La cvstodia d'oro: godvta nel vigilantissimo confalonierato dell'illvstrissimo signor senatore Francesco Ratta, e simboleggiata nel dilvisontvos.mo convito fatto all' ill.mo publico and ecc.si sig.ri anziani il primo bimestre dell'anno 1693, Giovannini, Giacomo-Maria, 1667-1717, Mazza, Giuseppe, 1653-1741, Sarti, Sebastiano, d. ca. 1740, Etching, 1693, The table sculpture made from sugar was designed for the banquet given by Senator Francesco Ratta at the Palazzo Vizzani in Bologna on February 28, 1693. Seated next to a golden lion, La Felsina is personified at the top of a rocky base representing the Apennines. The mounts are adorned with griffins, the emblem of Francesco Ratta, and allegories of the four rivers; they feature basins of preserves and sweets. Dedication signed: Gioseffo Mazza. On p., 6, the text mentions that the sugar sculptures were executed by Giovanni Battista Zaccarini, the other decorations by Sebastiano Sarti, under the supervision of Gioseffo Mazza
