Caption

Burma, December 1985. Karen guerrilla fighting against the central power of Rangoon since 1947. Here, the guerrillas bivouac after a fight on the Mae Plae-Mae La road, about five days' walk from the Thai border and examine their staff map to decide the route of the column. On the left of the image: Commander Marie Ho, who joined the resistance in 1965 and was responsible for propaganda in Burma.
