"This machine majestically took off into the sky on Monday 1st December 1783 in the jardins des Thuilleries at forty minutes past one. That same day at fifteen minutes to four, the balloon landed between the villages of Nesla and d'Hédouville in the Prairie de Nesle, nine leagues from Paris, near the town of Beaumont sur l'Oise."
