The Lyon balloon, named after de Flesselles, measured 130 ft high with a diameter of 102 according to the dimensions provided by Mr Montgolfier. The balloon took off from Brotteaux on 19th January 1784 at a height of 1438 "toises" with Mr. Montgolfier on board.
