Pongal is a 3 day Hindu festival held in January. On day one, offerings of foods and incense are placed in the temples. On day two, gifts of sweetmeats, fruits and rice are made. The third day honours cattle which Hindus consider to be sacred animals. Photographer: Prem Kapoor
