The massive white marble mausoleum was built in the Indian city of Agra by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan (1592-1666) for his favourite wife Mumtaz-i-Mahal. He is likewise buried within. Their tombs are inscribed with the ninety-nine names of Allah. Photographer: P.Gapper
