The Berghof, Adolf Hitler's famous retreat at Berchtesgaden atop Mt. Kehlstein (Germany, Bavaria).
This residence was divided into two levels: the Obersalzberg below, and the eagle's nest on top of the mountain, linked by an elaborate system of tunnels. The lowest buildings were badly damaged in 1945, but not the Eagle's Nest itself.
