Carlo Bugatti (1856-1940), Italy
Rare and important circular mirror with beveled edges and an asymmetrical frame. The frame, with a double grandis cut, is adorned with a frieze of stylized gold dragonflies and stylized red, green, and gold daisies. The protruding lower part opens to a flap decorated with repoussé leather bands, revealing an interior with tears and missing parchment.
Made of wood covered with its original parchment, sycamore fitted with drawers and an open compartment with seven carved columns (H: 105 x 154 x 14.5 cm)
