Gilbert Pollerat (1902-1988)
Important ceremonial table: The thick rectangular top with scalloped ends and molded edges rests on a frame-table equipped with two Italian-style extensions. The legs are formed of eight voluted blades with stylized leaves cut from the thickness and are joined by thick ropes and trimmings gilded with gold leaf. The stretcher features coral branches and stylized ostrich feathers joined by an openwork twisted sphere gilded with gold leaf. There are restorations to the marble.
Made of iron and black patinated forged steel, the crossbow-shaped frame is adorned with scallop shells (77x241x107cm).
