GUATEMALA, Quetzatenango, Xela, "A back street in the outskirts of the Guatemalan town of Xela. A characteristic but crumbling house sits baking in the sun surrounded by large rocks and a dry dusty road. The house itself is worn and crumbling. Some of the tiles on the roof are beginning to crack and the old red brickwork can be seen behind flaking paint. On the front wall of the house hangs the road and area name - '3 Avenida, Zona 4' The entrance to the house consists of an old but firm wooden gate. The gate, made of odd lengths of wood is closed but one can just make out the green foliage in the background. The sky is mainly clear and blue and to the left of the road name sits a small hole in the front of the house with a closed shutter in."
