Grotto Grande, Boboli Gardens, Florence, Italy. The Boboli Gardens adjoin the Pitti Palace, which was the residence of the Medici family, the Dukes of Tuscany. They were laid out in the second half of the 16th century for Eleanora of Toledo, the wife of Cosimo I de' Medici. The Grotto Grande was designed by the Mannerist painter and architect Giorgio Vasari.
