Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, 6/2003,
Members of Pietermaritzburg Christian Fellowship, friends and family take it in turn to fill in the grave of a community heroine. Akhona Nontsasa Mngweba was a light of hope to so many who knew her. Having contracted HIV which then developed into full-blown AIDS, against the tide of community opinion which keeps AIDS a secret, Akhona bravely proclaimed she was HIV positive and worked relentlessly to help others come to terms with the disease.
