milling the fibres by rolling them
Légende
Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
\nAs the fibres become reasonably compressed the friction and pressure can be increased. Santie removes the water from the fleece by milling (rolling) it in a small \\"cansi\\" (grass mat). A rolling pin can also be used. More water is then poured over the batts. The process is repeated for 15 minutes to an hour turning the woollen fibres over from side to side until they are well and truly matted together.
