Paddlers receive welcome a drenching of ice cold water at the top of Guinea Fowl Portage on Day 1 of the Powerade Dusi Canoe Marathon. Now called the Hansa Powerade Dusi Canoe Marathon, the marathon is the largest multiday canoe marathon in the world and runs between Pietermaritzburg and Durban. The race is 120 km of running and paddling down the Umsundusi and Umgeni rivers
