South Africa's most successful pineapple farms all fall within an area of a number of kilometres square near Hluhluwe, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Conditions there are just right for producing beautifully sweet pineapples for eating. The vast bulk of the crop is flown out to Europe where it is available for purchase in supermarkets.
