Community volunteers work at reversing the effects of erosion.

\nThe deep scars in the hillside behind Baba Madada Mlambo's homestead, Ingubhela community lands, northern Drakensberg, are healing quickly. Already the scars are difficult to see beneath the thick grasses, and every few metres or so a shoot of a new tree is reaching for the bright skies.
