Bonface Nhemachena (front) and Ellaiah Tundura inspect new shoots of maize that are springing up in a demonstration garden in Chimbuwe, in the Zambezi Valley, Zimbabwe. During the last season the area experienced total crop failure and inhabitants are living on donations by aid organisations. Aimed at bringing hope to communities that have given up hope, the demostration garden is part of a project run by a group of related local churches under the umbrella of Newfrontiers in Zimbabwe. The end goal is to enable communities to feed themselves even during drought conditions through the use of conservation farming methods
