Mother and daughter, Zambezi Valley
Légende
Emma Kembo, together with her mother Tikangamweyi Sengwe, takes shelter from the scorching noonday heat of the Zambezi Valley, Zimbabwe, beneath a traditional storage structure. Kembo has a lot to contend with on her way to adulthood. In the Zambezi Valley where she lives malaria, cholera, and HIV/AIDS are rife, and with severe drought, starvation has been added to the list. At least she has her mother and a church nearby which in partnership with other Newfrontiers churches in Zimbabwe, is assisting families with emergency rations, and even more importantly with a conservation farming project that hopefully will enable the community to grow their own food even in drought conditions
