Francesco da Mura (1696-1782) Italian painter. 'Family of Darius, mistakes (Hephaestion) for Alexander the Great' after the Persian defeat at Issus, 333 BC. Alexander known to be of short stature. Mura has identity of woman wrong. She was Darius's mother. Private collection.
