Patagonians in the 'toldo' or skin tent. On right is the tomb of a child who has recently died and facing it are the stuffed skins of two horses who have been sacrificed. From William Parker King "Narrative of the Surveying Voyages of His Majesty's Ships Adventure and Beagle Vol.I, London 1839. This was the expedition on which Charles Darwin acted as naturalist.
