The defence of Old Wardour Caslte, Wiltshire, during the English Civil War. A Royalist musketeer was mortally wounded by his brother who was fighting on the Parliamentary side. Blanche, Lady Arundell, born Blanche Somerset (1583-1649), directing the six day defence of the Castle in 1643 while her husband was away. Engraving c1860.
