'Manner of crossing the first River in the Peak Hole' 18th century gentleman tourists being shown the wonders of the cave by guides with candles. Etching by Isaac Cruikshank (c1764-1811) after the drawing by the English caricaturist George Montard Woodward (c1760-1809) published 1797.
