James Baird (1802-1876) Scottish industrialist and iromaster, born at Old Monkland, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Conservative Member of Parliament for Falkirk Burghs (1850-1857). Although against unionisation of his workforce, he was interested in the education of his workers. Engraving, 1873.
