Thomas Percy

Thomas Percy, 7th Earl of Northumberland (1528-1572) English nobleman who followed the Roman Catholic faith. In 1569 led the Rising of the North in support of Mary Queen of Scots. When it failed he fled to Scotland but was handed over to the English, found guilty of treason and beheaded. Later beatified by the Roman Catholic church.
