Sandstone tombstone of Marcus Cocceius Nonnus, aged six. Roman, about AD 96-98. From a tomb near the Roman fort at Penrith, Cumbria. The boy is portrayed as a vicarious charioteer, with a whip and palm of victory. His family was granted Roman citizenship by the emperor Nerva (AD 96-98)
