Portrait of Matilda Sissieretta Joyner Jones, known as Sissieretta Jones on a poster advertisement. Sissieretta lived between January 5th 1868 ñ June 24th, 1933 and was an African-American soprano. She was sometimes referred to as 'The Black Patti', referencing the Italian opera singer Adelina Patti.
