The Emperor Maximilian I by Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640). In 1634 Rubens was commissioned to design a series of street decorations to celebrate the entrance into Antwerp of Ferdinand, the newly appointed Governor of the Spanish Netherlands.
