The Bridge Stone of Honour by Joseph Mallord William Turner. Oil on canvas. This excellent landscape shows the fortress of Ehrenbreitstein, near Coblenz, at the meeting of the rivers Rhine and Mosel. Turner visited the site in August 1817, on his first tour down the Rhine, where he made further studies of the area.
