30th anniversary stamp (detail), commemorating the death of Vladimir Lenin. The image was inspired by the Serov painting showing Lenin at the meeting of the 2nd All-Russia Congress of Soviets, at the Smolny Institute. This set in motion the October 1917 Russian Revolution. Next to Lenin (left to right) Leaders including: Stalin, Dzerzhinsky and Sverdlov.
