Empress Elisabeth with her children, Elisabeth of Austria (born 24 December 1837 as Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie von Wittelsbach, Duchess in Bavaria in Munich, Kingdom of Bavaria, died 10 September 1898 in Geneva, Switzerland) came from the ducal collateral line Palatinate-Zweibruecken-Birkenfeld-Gelnhausen of the House of Wittelsbach.
