Cycle rickshaw rider, transporting a newlywed muslim couple, following the purdah tradition, Terai region, Nepal. Purdah is the social partition of the sexes. It requires women hide themselves from men that dont belong to their family. It is still followed by hindu and muslim communities in some parts of the indian subcontinent. This couple is hiding because they come from a village where there are no other means of public transport than cycle rickshaws. (And they are too poor to own their own car)
