Miners pay their respects on the castle square Traditional mining and smelting parade in Freiberg. Hundreds of miners from various mining and metallurgical organisations marched through Freiberg's old town. For the first time, the miners' parade took place on the Schlossplatz. The march then continued via the Obermarkt, with the Freiberg Christmas market, to St Peter's Church for the so-called Mettenschicht.
