In the early hours of the morning, a section of the Carola Bridge collapsed for unknown reasons. Over a length of around 100 metres, the section on which the trams normally run has collapsed into the Elbe. Partial demolition has begun, with around 10 excavators tearing down the collapsed section of the bridge to make room for the impending Elbe flood.
