The power plant Mitte power station in Dresden was a fossil-fuelled combined heat and power plant that had existed since 1895 and was decommissioned in 1994 after 99 years. In 2016, a complete renovation of the main building and the demolition of the outbuildings was completed and the site reopened on 16 December 2016 as a cultural venue for operetta, musical and theatre performances. The power plant Mitte Fest was celebrated for the seventh time under the motto We are colourful, power plant Mitte Fest 2024, Dresden, Saxony, Germany, Europe
