Carolasee The Great Garden was laid out from 1676 for the Elector Prince and later Elector Johann Georg III as a hunting garden with a star-shaped network of paths. From 1678, master builder Johann Georg Starcke built the palace in the Great Garden in coordination with the garden plans by Johann Friedrich Karcher
