Open Grid Europe will use its H2 training track to train engineers and tradespeople to become experts in handling hydrogen in the long-distance gas grid. The OGE compressor station in Werne is the central hub in the German natural gas grid. At around 25 billion cubic metres per year, around a quarter of the natural gas consumed in Germany flows through the Werne compressor station. The natural gas flows into the station from northern Germany, the North Sea and the Netherlands via five large inlet pipes.
